For the month of Jan, the ITIG discussion will be on Understanding and Using the Facebook. So, what is the Facebook? Facebook is about “Social Networking”. Facebook is a huge online, and a worldwide, community. You can join your friend’s group or you can start your own friends group. But first, you have to sign up for a Facebook account and it is free. You can see your friend’s latest photos and videos with, at times, an extensive biography. You can write notes in your Facebook (express yourself) or on your friend’s Facebook Wall (giving comments and views or even asking a question).
As there are good and bad people in the Internet World, we have to learn how to use online service (including Facebook) effectively. Others can also see, depending on how you do the settings on your Facebook account, on what you and your friends said or posted. It may be all right if the information or pictures posted are not of a sensitive nature.
If you are afraid of people knowing too much about you and your friends, online, you can forget about Facebook and continue your current conventional way of social networking.
Owing to classroom size availability, registration will close at 20.
For those who wish to attend, please provide me with your IC number (as required by LKCC). Do not write your IC details in your comments to this post but email me separately through email@example.com
