How to Create a Restore Point (For PC user only)

Microsoft Windows (latest version is Windows 10 – version 1803, available since May 2018) has built-in a feature called “Restore Point” or System Restore. You can undo system changes by reverting your computer to a previous restore point.

To ensure you have the latest best restore point, you need to regularly create restore points, say once in two weeks or monthly.

Here is how you go about to create a Restore Point …

  • Click the icon “Search Windows” (the magnifier icon at bottom left corner)
  • Type “restore point”
  • In “System Property” menu, click “create”
  • On the white bar spacing, enter file name (e.g. 030518, the date restore was done)
  • When completed, a message will come out, via
“The restore point was created successfully”

One good example is, when performing major operating system upgrade, like the recent one 1803, available since May 2018, it is recommended to create a restore point immediately prior to doing the 1803 upgrade.

Friends of the Library

From young during school days, library is like my second home, and still is. Library has come a long way from just going in to borrow a book or go to the reference section and go home.

We can see and feel the great change in the manner how our libraries are operating now. To me, it is like a Community, where patrons are encouraged to get engaged either to attend the variety of activities & events or better still be a volunteer as Friends of the Library to conduct and/or assist in running activities and events the libraries have organised for the general public, young and old.

I am one of the Friends of the Library recently being featured in our local papers. To read more, please go to the web link …
