Scratch Coding for Seniors

Objective: Scratch is a free and simple coding program. It helps us to think in a logical and systematic way to create digital greeting cards, games and even to create our own digital life story. Scratch is suitable for the young and the old.

What is Coding: Coding is a language, computer language. It has precise statement structure and verbs like; move, wait, etc. Location is defined by co-ordinates, with 0,0 at the center. Horizontal is from -240 to +240 and vertical is from -180 to +180.

I am starting a one-year online (WhatsApp) discussion group to have fun in coding. Members will create their own Scratch programs, share and discuss with fellow members. Experienced Scratch programmers are welcome to join us, guide and advise us when we get lost in our learning journey. It will purely be on a voluntary basis without cost involved.

Those interested can email me at kewina_pc138@hotmail.com giving a brief introduction of yourself and details including full name, age and mobile number. Please note – you need to have a WhatsApp account together with a desktop or laptop computer. Further details will follow once membership is accepted.

The online discussion course on Scratch Coding will commence in Sept 2017.
