Record of last year’s walk (Singapore River)
This photo walk is intended to compliment the IT Talk on “Digital Photo Management” on 6th May in Jurong Regional Library – the hands-on part. We will start from Raffles Place MRT and walk along Marina Bay to the Merlion Park. Then we walk along Cavenagh Bridge, crossing the Singapore River and walk along Singapore River, passing Raffles landing site and continue to Elgin Bridge. From here, we continue to walk along the Singapore River till we reach Clarke Quay MRT. For those who want to break off from here can do so or they can continue to walk till we reach Liang Court Departmental Store and have a dinner together.
For those interested in IT, you can continue to make a short movie with the pictures taken using Microsoft Windows Movie Maker (WMM). Workshops on WMM are scheduled on June 10th, 15th & 22nd in Bukit Merah Library and on July 6th, 13th & 20th in Jurong Regional Library. Do you have a Story to tell?
Your wedding? Bringing up your children/grand children?
A memorable birthday party? or a tour you just completed? or just a collection of old photos?
You want to pass your memories to your children/grand children in a CD-Rom (playable in any CD-player) or just upload to your YouTube account.
To do any of the above, you need to either start collecting your photos or just go for a photo field trip to gather the images. Free training sessions will be organised.
For the above hands-on field trip around Chinatown, try to have about 30 good meaningful photos.
We will share with you how you can use your photos to create a movie (story) using Microsoft Windows Movie Maker (WMM) program. You can obtain more details of this Movie Making Course/Workshop if you come for our NEXT IT Talk in Bukit Merah Library on the 14th Jan 2017 at 3PM.

Urban design is the language of the City. Everything you see, has been designed – be it safety, accessibility, security, comfort, etc. A researcher is here to study how we (our planners) designed and developed the latest Marina Financial Center and the surrounding Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort.
Being the tour guide, I have the opportunity to hear how our city is different from other cities.
Those interested to join me in this educational walk are as follows:

4) Mei Chuen
The walk is confirmed on the 28th Jan 2016.
The walk is limited to a maximum of eight persons.
It is the time of the year again where we will say goodbye to the Year (2015) and welcoming the New Year (2016). Some of you may be in the middle of a tour overseas having quality time with friends or with family members and others may have no plan this year.
At our twilight (or silver hairs) years, we do not know when we will not be able to or not able to do what we can do best. So, it is timely to count our blessing year by year by meeting with like-minded people to cherish our fellowship and having a simple “Christmas” food court dinner together.
As with any other years, this is a good time and opportunity to stroll, after dinner, along Orchard Road and try your night photography skills with your smartphone and/or camera. For those interested, please see details below.
Date: 18th Dec 2015 (Friday evening)
Time: 6.30PM to 9.30PM
Meeting Place and Start Point: Tanglin Mall Food Court (junction of Orchard Road & Grange Road). End Point will be at Somerset or Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station.
1) Dinner before chat: 6.30PM to 7.30PM: for those who can come early, we can have a dinner together in the food court and getting to know each other better.
2) Fellowship: 7.30PM to 8.30PM: Chat at Mall (free n easy – form your own small group on per table basis). Share what you have experienced this year, your reflections, what you can do better, etc. [Always remember a quote from the late George Carlin on Ageing. Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.]
3) Start walking: 8.30PM to 9.30PM: Start walking and picture taking.
You can use your smartphone or camera to take some pictures.
