Before starting to create the digital story, ensure you have all your resource materials like photos, music files, video clips, draft script, narration ready.
(A) Transferring Photos and Song to WMM – (Home Menu)
A1. Create a new file folder in the Desktop page. Name the file folder accordingly.
A2. Make a copy of all resource materials into this new file folder.
A3. Sequence all your photos selected by renaming them appropriately, like 01-xxx, 02-xxx and so on.
A4. Assuming you have already installed this WMM program in your computer, open this program. This will bring you to the “Home” menu of the WMM.
A5. Click “Add Videos and photos” and go to your file folder and select all photos required. You can highlight the first photo and with “shift + left click” of mouse, you have selected all photos required. Next click “open”.
A6. Still under the “Home” menu, click “Add music”. Then click “Add music from PC”. Select (highlight) song file required and click “open”.
A7. With the photos and song file transferred to the WMM program, do a “File” – “Save Project as” and provide a suitable file name.
A8. At this stage, you can do a test play and see how the movie is developing.
(B) Adding Title/Caption/Credits to WMM (Home Menu)
B1. Adding Title: Under “Title/Caption/Credits”, click “Title” and change text to appropriate wordings. You can also change the type/size of fonts as desired.
B2. Adding Credits: Under “Title/Caption/Credits”, click “Credits” and change text to appropriate wordings. You can also change the type/size of fonts as desired.
B3. Adding Caption: First, place the cursor in front of the photo (slide) you wish to add Caption. Under “Title/Caption/Credits”, click “Caption” and change text to appropriate wordings. You can change the type/size of fonts as desired. Adjust the text to location on photo desired. To do this, shift mouse to any corner of the text, left click and hold mouse key, shift to desired position then release left click of mouse.
B4. After all the photos in B3 with Caption are completed, you can do another “File” – “Save Project as” and do a test play.
(C) Adding Transition and Pan/Zoom to WMM (Animations Menu)
C1. Adding Transition
Put cursor in front of photo (slide) and select “transition” required. You can check the effect before “clicking” to accept desired transition for the selected photo (slide). Repeat for all photos (slides) required.
C2. Adding Pan and Zoom
Put cursor in front of photo (slide) and select “Pan & Zoom” required. You can check the effect before “clicking” to accept desired Pan/Zoom for the selected photo (slide). Repeat for all photos (slides) required.
C3. After all the photos in C1 & C2 are completed, you can do another “File” -“Save Project as” and do a test play.
(D) Final Test and Publishing the Movie
With all the Steps stated in A to C completed, you have to “convert” or “publish” the WMM movie. Only after you have published or converted the WMM file to “mp4” movie format then you can share the movie with your friends or playback on another computer.
